Pro Tools 5.3.1r2 Update for 5.3.1 Pro Tools|HD Mac

This version contains fixes for the following problems found in Pro Tools TDM 5.3.1 for Macintosh:

• Assorted issues when using PRE in conjunction with ProControl & Control|24
• The Feet.Frames ruler was incorrectly calculated when session frame rate was set to 29.97
• Inserting silence into a MIDI track did not always displace automation data accordingly
• DirectConnect plug-ins or applications like Soft SampleCell and Native Instruments did not work with the 192 Digital I/O

Who Should Use Pro Tools TDM 5.3.1r2?

• This release has been fully qualified by Digidesign, and should be used by all Pro Tools|HD users on Macintosh-based systems, though if you do not use PRE, MIDI tracks, 192 Digital I/O or the Feet.Frames ruler, you will gain no advantage by updating from version 5.3.1.

StreamManager_128:

Not included with this download. If you are using the 192 Digital I/O, and you wish to also use the 128 sample buffer version of StreamManager with the fix for the 192Digital I/O, you will need to download Digidesign StreamManager_128 version 5.3.1r2 separately. (371 k download)

Note:

Pro Tools 5.3.1r2 replaces 5.3.1cs1 and should be used instead of 5.3.1cs1. Instead of downloading 5.3.1r2, you may wish to download one of the newer Pro Tools CS Updates instead, which include the fixes from Pro Tools 5.3.1r2, plus additional fixes. Apple Multiprocessor and G4 PowerBook Expansion Chassis Fix — For Mac OS 9

This download is for anyone wishing to use Pro Tools on either a multiprocessor Apple G4, or a Titanium Powerbook model 550 or higher.

Without this download:

• Users with multiprocessor systems may experience -6042 errors unless they remove the Multiprocessor folder from their extensions folder, thus disabling the second processor.
• Users of Titanium Powerbooks model 550 or higher are unable to use expansion chassis for their Pro Tools hardware.

Other users will experience no benefit from this download and should not use it.

Pro Tools LE 32T comprises two Macintosh-only components: Pro Tools LE 5.2.1cs1 and DAE 5.1.1cs11. Using these two components with either Digi 001 or Digi Toolbox on Macintosh will increase the number of simultaneous audio tracks from 24 to 32.

Who Should Use this Update?

This update should only be used by Macintosh-based Digi 001 or Digi Toolbox owners using Pro Tools LE v5.1.1 or v5.2.1, who wish to increase their track count to 32 tracks. Please note that:

• Digi 001 or Digi Toolbox system owners using Pro Tools LE 5.1 Mac or older will need to install Pro Tools LE 5.1.1 in order to use the Pro Tools LE 32T components. Pro Tools 5.1 owners can Download the Pro Tools 5.1.1 Update Here

RealAudioG2 Folder For Pro Tools 5.3 — Mac Pro Tools|HD Systems Only

What This Download Fixes:

When choosing RealAudio G2 as a bounce option in Pro Tools version 5.3, the following error may appear:

'The Real Audio option cannot be enabled because a program error occurred -2804 while loading the RealAudio.dll'

Some of the files in the RealAudioG2 folder on the Pro Tools 5.3 for Macintosh HD systems are not the correct version for HD systems, which can cause the above error. The enclosed folder named 'RealAudioG2' should be used to replace the folder of the same name located in your System Folder/DAE Folder/Codecs folder.

From the included ReadMe: Digi Background MIDI INIT is a system extension that allows MIDI playback in Pro Tools to continue in the background while you hold the mouse down in another application. Without this INIT playback of MIDI will continue for a few seconds and then pause until you release the mouse. For example, this problem occurs when dragging windows in the finder or when manipulating controls in Koblo.

Digi Background MIDI INIT only works when used with Pro Tools versions 5.0.1 or later.
