Important Notes

  • A tilde (~) placed at the beginning of a folder path refers to that folder’s location within the user profile. For example, ~/Library/Preferences/ refers to the Preferences folder within the user's Library folder (e.g. /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/). A path without a tilde refers to the system-wide version of that folder at the root of the system (e.g. /Library/Preferences/).

  • Note that certain folder mentioned in the list can be hidden directories on the system.

  • It is important to remember that certain items mentioned in this article might not exist on your system depending on the Receiver version(s) you previously installed.

Follow Me Data Notes

In version 11.6, the Follow Me Data feature is integrated into the Citrix Receiver for Mac. The files and folders that are compatible with this feature are listed.
You can remove the files that were not properly cleaned up by the uninstaller. You can also keep the user data that was previously synchronized on your system by Follow Me Data.

  1. The following locations should be cleaned up after running the uninstaller utility:
    - ~/Applications/Citrix/FollowMeData (this is a hidden folder that contains the application binary)
    - ~/Library/Application Support/ShareFile (contains user specific configurations)
    - /Library/PreferencePanes/FMDSysPrefPane.prefPane

  2. Installation information files that are okay to remove after uninstall:
    - /private/var/db/receipts/com.citrix.ShareFile.installer.plist
    - /private/var/db/receipts/com.citrix.ShareFile.installer.bom

File not cleaned up during uninstall that you may or may not want to delete depending on your needs:

If you are Unable to find the Citrix WorkSpace App running on your MAC and if you want to forcefully quit
Press Cmd + Alt + Escape to see the Force Quit Applications menu.
This will show running apps, and lets you force-quit them if necessary - just highlight the Citrix WorkSpace App and click Force Quit.

These instructions are for first time users only; all other users follow steps 1-3 and then step 14:

1. From your web browser (Chrome is recommended) go to the site https://apps.wakemed.org

2. Enter your WakeMed network username i.e. jdoe (DO NOT include @wakemed.org) and password.

3. This will take you to the Duo Mobile Authentication page, choose your preferred method: Send Me a Push or Enter a Passcode. Check your mobile device to accept the push or passcode.

4. On the next page, select Detect Receiver

5. You will then be prompted to Open Citrix Receiver Launcher.app?, place a checkmark in the Always open these types of links in the associated app and click on Open Citrix Receiver Launcher.app

6. On the next page, place a checkmark in I agree with the Citrix license agreement and click Download

7. This will download a file called CitrixReceiverWeb.dmg to your workstation.

8. Once downloaded, launch the CitrixReceiverWeb.dmg file from the folder location or from your browser bar (as shown in example below) if it appears.

9. In the next window, double-click Install Citrix Receiver.pkg

10. You select Continue through all of the prompts and click Agree to the license agreement and finally select Install

11. You will then be prompted for your local workstation’s username and password. This is the password to your local computer. Click Install Software

12. Select Continue and then Close in the next two windows.

13. Return to the internet browser and select Continue. This will proceed to log you into Citrix.
